NEW BRAND - Stacks and Bundles

Stacks and Bundles is part of the new school of urban clothing coming out of New York and the US in general. Stacks and Bundles is so hot right now in the US that between the time we placed order and paid for it which was about 7 days they had sold out of a number of designs, which is why size breaks are random in places and they managed to make numbers up with extra size ie XXXL and design we didn’t order. Just guess how annoyed we were with that? Be the first to rock Stacks and Bundles at your local venue buy them fast coz stocks are low and we don’t know if we will be getting any re-stocks.

NEW BRAND GrnAppleTree

GrnAppleTree has landed in both the UK and on Sturban Clothing. If you are not aware of Green Apple Tree design check them out they are super cool and feature on many of the cutting edge design sites across the net.

Here's a comment from the founder of GrnAppleTree Luis Antonio where he states that GrnAppleTree is not a street wear brand. “We basically started out making clothes for all kinds of different categories. We sell to rocker kids, hip-hop kids and the skate kids, but we don’t try to make clothes specifically for them. We try to make clothes we like and all these other categories come to us. The whole name thing is just something positive that we grow into worldwide, where everybody could wear the brand.”

We only have GrnAppleTree t-shirt’s in right now and stock in the UK is very limited so grab them whilst you can.

Ambiguous Clothing the story so far

Ambiguous clothing arriving bit by bit just in our tightest jean this season the Jolie with a 15 inch ankle not quite emo but tight, I tried some on and they fit nice it is the way the trend in jeans is going. These have Spandex added to the cotton so they do stretch. Also in a knitted cotton full zip hood and a rather nice shirt but then Ambiguous do make nice shirts so if you have not checked them get on there.

The story of Ambiguous started in the mid 90s with a single word unceremoniously taped above the dorm room bed of founder Frank Delgadillo. “Vague”. Never one to settle into the standard mold, Frank chased the “Pure Dream” of making a living doing the things that make you happy. In his case, making clothes his friends would want to wear. Artists, musicians, skateboarders, snowboarders, surfers - his friends, became his company. And with their help Ambiguous took shape, providing stores with designs that stood out from current trends back in the mid 90s.

With strong roots taking a firm hold, Ambiguous continued to build its name on its design credentials and an indifference to convention and explanation. The raw, fresh clothes gained an underground following within the southern California boarding community and would eventually attract Japanese kids and the attention of the business world.

Ambiguity hasn’t meant obscurity. Fall 2005 marked Ambiguous’ move to a new location - giving the company freedom to breathe deeply in preparation of a brand new era. Ambiguous has returned full circle to the origins of founder Frank Delgadillo and the roots of vague. But the group of friends that started with a dream has grown into a family, the original idea intact and transformed into a constituency given teeth to hit the ground running.

Addict X One True Saxon Collab

ONETrueSaxon have teamed up with Addict to produce a camouflage design, which reflects the heritage of both brands. They have taken the Addict Swifty Camo with the addition of the classic ONETrueSaxon dog. Both companies will produce limited edition tees, featuring the Dog and Knight logos blended with the camouflage.

ONETrueSaxon have produced camo before and bespoke designs with Heavenly Records but that was when they the company changed hands and from our personal experience they had a lot of problems with production so much in fact that we sent most of our order back. Dunno about this collab Addict have been producing camo for a while now and have cut themselves out a nice little niche we do here that the public though have lost interest a little and Addict shop had a rough time selling camo this last season. OTS since they were bought out by Pentland we have not had much contact so don’t know how they are fairing but when you see them in mainsteam mailorder catalogues it doesn’t bode well in our mind.

Check The Urban Shop for BIG discounts on both Addict and One True Saxon as this is our last remaining stock from both companies.

Big whisper around that the aforementioned Pentland are looking to buy Fenchurch to add to their growing list of clothing companies, OTS and Bench.

Oh yeah like the t-shirt.

PIMP reviews TheUrbanShop

The beautiful people at PIMP wrote some very kind words about your favourite clothing shop, here’s the lodown.

“The Urban Shop is the UK’s largest retailer of designer street wear and skate fashion, stocking the latest lines from premium brands and artists such as Upper Playground, Obey, Flying Fortress and House 33. Its continuing search for new products, support for smaller start up labels, and extensive connections within the graffiti and hip hop worlds, has seen the store quickly elevated from mere retailer to an institution in urban apparel and street culture.

Its position at the forefront of street fashion is again reflected in the forthcoming exclusives set to drop over the coming months. First off are four new collaborative tees from hugely popular Ambiguous label and San Francisco based artist, Albert Reyes. The new range features prints of Reyes’ works and is set coincide with his U.S gallery shows. The Urban Shop will also be receiving new tees from the consistently amazing graffiti / tattoo inspired label To Die For, which has collaborated with illustrator Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins, and U.S tattoo heavyweight, Dan Smith.

This autumn will also see the store debuts of UARM and Green Apple Tree. Both labels are widely regarded as two of the most dynamic and exciting to emerge in recent years. Sturban Clothing is one of the only UK outlets for these hard to find threads.”

A message from Mickey Avalon

Here's an email we received from Mickey Avalon who is a recording artist sponsored by RVCA and it just shows a man who seem to be enjoying what he's doing but also gives an insight to life on the road, check it.

Its been a wild year, check it.

By now you probably know that my record is out and that me and my crew, the Dyslexic Speedreaders (feat.my best friends Andre Legacy & Dirt Nasty), have been touring non-stop. If we haven't been to your town yet, check out our schedule because we will probably be there by the end of the year. So girls go get your hair did and boys, we like downers not Charlie.

Besides being home-sick (and dope-sick), the road aint no joke. From playing (and beefing with 60,000 Dutch folk with bad aim) in Europe opening for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, to rocking Lollapalooza, to sharing the stage with freaky dudes like Niggarochii The Hillbilly in Cleveland, Ohio...its all regalia.

I've been fortunate enough to meet, record and play with some artists I really dig and respect: The Happy Mondays (who's record just came out and I am on), Slick Rick, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Hank III, Raekwon, Perry Farrell, Lil Jon and others. It is a kids dream to be able to meet some of his heroes, let alone party, play and record with them.

I got the best and craziest fans, and it's because of you that I have been able to release a record, travel the world and most importantly, pay my child support.

THANK YOU!

Even though I am now on a major label, I have complete artistic control over everything I do, so kids don't fret. I am also co-owner of the independent record label, Shoot To Kill; home of myself, Andre Legacy, Dirt Nasty, Dyslexic Speedreaders, and Beardo.

Legacy's record has been out for a few months now and Dirt Nasty's record came out last week. They're both palatial and I got a cut on each one. Make sure to cop them if you can, but if you can't; either burn or boost them.

The Dyslexic and the STK mix-tape will be out sometime next year, and hopefully there will be a Beardo EP hitting stores on September 11th.

As for myself, I'm laughing. My daughter came to visit me in Nebraska this week. When I get home from tour in September, we're gonna make a real video for Mr. Right, being that we failed miserably on the Jane Fonda video. I go back out for October, and that's it for the year. I'll be finishing my record at home, and it should be out by March. Maybe an EP in the meantime, but who knows.

Until then, don't die.

The Ave.

Ballerr Fabulous 300 New in

The new Wale Adeyemi clothing creation has just arrived in store with Ballerr Fabulous. A bit confused has it was supposed to be Ballerr Fabulous 500 but has come Ballerr Fabulous 300, the number indicating the limited edition of pieces world wide. We are guessing that this being the injection range (the range before the full range) it's slightly more exclusive and the full range will be 500 and limited to 500 pieces world wide. The things we have to take onboard, anyway it's cool so take a look if not at this the full range when it arrives
